Hey, it’s been a while. This is too late to be called my first issue of the year but yes it is actually my first issue of 2023. I’ve got a bunch of updates to share
Overseas coding gig
First of all, early this year I got an overseas freelancing gig. This was my first time making USD as a monthly payout. I am just grateful for how computers can enable a person from one country to make money from another. Though I dropped out because it wasn’t working out with my full-time job, it was just the beginning of my side hustle quest. The plan from here is to focus fully on building projects and less on freelancing gigs.
Promotion 🥳
Yes, I got promoted at my full-time job. Hurrah !!
I am a Software Engineer 3 at Walmart now. This also increased my responsibilities and I’m a whole lot of excited about that.
First BuyMeACoffee Donation
It was a Thursday noon and I was working from home. Before having lunch, I opened Gmail and saw the below email:
I thought it was spam at first but I double-checked the sender and it looked genuine. I visited my BuyMeACoffee profile and voila, I had $5 in my dashboard. 😄 Well, it’s not about the money but someone literally paid something for my project is what made me happy. Weirdly, it felt even better than my full-time job salary.
I ran my first Half Marathon
My one of fitness goals this year was running a Half Marathon and I did it in a time of 2:41 hours. The route was through beautiful Cubbon Park at Bengaluru, it felt like I was running in the Himalayas Jungle (just remove the elevations).
Thanks, this will be all for this issue. This time I don’t have any articles but I have a few articles lining up in my drafts which you might see in the next issues.
Congratulations on your promotion and first online money 😄
